Hi, I’m Val.

At Somnium Therapeutics, we believe bodywork should never be one size fits all. Every person who walks through our doors has a different history, different goals, and different needs. Whether you are looking for relief from chronic pain, support for your nervous system, recovery from physical activity, or a chance to truly relax, every session is personalized using techniques that best support your body.

I founded Somnium Therapeutics to create a practice where clients feel heard, respected, and genuinely cared for. As we continue to grow, that commitment remains at the center of everything we do. Every therapist at Somnium shares the same philosophy of thoughtful, individualized care and a passion for helping people feel their best.

I completed my massage therapy training at the Colorado School of Healing Arts in 2018 and specialize in neuromuscular therapy, trauma-informed bodywork, trigger point therapy, cupping, myofascial release, and therapeutic massage. My background in psychology and communication has shaped the way I approach bodywork by recognizing the relationship between physical discomfort, stress, and the nervous system. I believe the best outcomes come from treating the whole person, not just the area that hurts.

My interest in the mind-body connection extends beyond the treatment room. I participated in research at the University of Colorado Denver exploring holistic approaches and positive psychology for chronic pain management, and my work was published in a commentary article in 2023. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in psychology to continue building my understanding of how the brain, body, and nervous system influence one another.

Outside of Somnium, I enjoy spending time outdoors, staying active, reading, traveling, exploring new creative hobbies, and cheering on a good hockey game. Those experiences remind me of the importance of balance, curiosity, and making time to care for ourselves, which is something I hope every client experiences when they visit our practice.
